About Russell

I'm a parent of three — one in high school, one in college, and one launching into the working world. When AI started showing up in their classrooms (and in the headlines), I did what most parents do: I worried. Then I got curious. Then I got to work.

I spent months learning how tools like ChatGPT and Claude actually work, talking to other parents, wrestling with school policies, and having real conversations with my kids about what AI means for their education and their futures. This book is everything I learned along the way — written parent-to-parent, because I think that's the conversation most of us are missing.

I'm not a tech executive or an AI researcher. I'm a parent who decided that understanding beats fear, and that our kids deserve adults who are paying attention.
